Report Animal Welfare Concerns

“Whistleblower policy”

Safeguarding animal welfare is the responsibility of every individual associated with the UMMC program. The Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee, in association with the institutional official, is committed to assuring this principle. Methods are in place to report and investigate any animal welfare concerns.

If you suspect an act of noncompliance or have an animal welfare concern, you are urged to report this information. Reports may be made in any of the following methods:

• Call (601) 815-5006: IACUC office
• Call (601) 984-1385: Center for Comparative Research (CCR)
• UMMC internet: To file an anonymous report to prompt an IACUC investigation, click here. 
• Contact any IACUC member

Reports may remain confidential and will be fully evaluated. Persons making a report will be protected from reprisal and are assured of nondiscrimination.
