About the Burn Center

Rehab and Return to Life
Wounds and scarring from burns may affect a patient’s mobility, flexibility and range of motion. To deliver the best possible care and support for recovery at every stage, physical therapists and occupational therapists begin work with patients while they are still in the acute phase of recovery at the Burn Center. This early support improves the long-term rehabilitation essential for recovery.
Therapy takes place in the Burn Center’s protected environment at the bedside and in a dedicated rehabilitation gym located right on the unit. Here, patients work on regaining strength, flexibility and mobility, along with activities of daily living for recovery and return to life.
Therapy planning aligns with a patient’s overall health, stage of recovery and personal goals.
