Hand Surgery Clinical Research Fellowship
Research is a fundamental component to advancing the field of hand, upper extremity and nerve surgery and is a core component of the mission of the Jabaley-Songcharoen Center for Hand, Upper Extremity, and Nerve Surgery.
The Hand Center offers a clinical research fellowship for medical students and/or postdoctoral students from anywhere in the world to apply for a one-year research experience at UMMC. Interested applicants must have a desire for and capability of leading and participating in multiple concurrent research projects.
Application criteria
Applicants for the hand surgery research fellow must:
- Be medical students or recent post-medical graduates
- Have an interest in hand surgery and plastic surgery
- Meet all UMMC requirements for educational observers

The application cycle begins every year on January 1 and ends March 1. To apply, submit all the following documents via email to handcenter@umc.edu.
- Current CV
- Two letters of recommendation
- Current photograph
- Letter including statement of interest
The accepted applicant will be eligible for funding support to assist with travel and lodging costs.
