Donate Toys and Supplies

Thank you for your interest in donating in-kind gifts to the University of Mississippi Medical Center. In-kind donations can be used in various places throughout the University of Mississippi Medical Center, including the hospitals, child life activity rooms, emergency rooms, and clinics. We are so grateful for your kindness and generosity. Please know that our patients and their families join us in gratitude for your time and gifts.

What We Need

Here are items that we consistently need and use:

  • Arts and crafts supplies (crayons, markers, playdoh, coloring books, etc.)
  • Baby/infant/toddler toys
  • Barbie/baby dolls (all races)
  • Small prize toys (legos, hotwheels, pop-its, bubbles, fidget spinners, etc.)
  • Card games (uno, phase 10, matching games, etc.)
  • Hygiene products (for all ages, race, and gender)
  • School aged toys
  • Toys for adolescents (please no gaming consoles)

Ways to Donate

Please Note

  • Do not wrap donations or make “goodie bags.” Because every patient’s condition is unique, we will be forced to unwrap/unpack donations to ensure appropriateness.
  • At this time we are not accepting any gift cards.
  • Currently, we are not accepting handmade pillowcases, blankets, hats, scarves, and mittens. We are always accepting handmade baby layettes.
  • In accordance with Infection Control policies and hospital guidelines, there are a few things we cannot accept or hand out to patients in our care:
    • Gift cards
    • Handmade/homemade cards and letters
    • Homemade food
    • Used items (even gently used)
    • Religious items, or items that include religious references
    • Toy weapons or violent video games/movies
    • Candy
    • Latex balloons
    • “Ride-On-Top” toys, such as bikes, scooters, pogo sticks
    • Toy kitchen sets/appliances
  • For the safety of patients and families, as well as donors, personal delivery of gifts and/or donations directly to patients is not permitted.
