Hospitals and Clinics

As the state’s only academic medical center, the University of Mississippi Medical Center seeks to improve the health of Mississippi’s population and eliminate health disparities through education, research and patient care.

UMMC includes six hospitals, 35 clinics and more than 200 telehealth sites statewide. Our health care locations serve as teaching sites as part of our mission to educate tomorrow’s caregivers.

UMMC encompasses six health science schools: medicine, nursing, health related professions, dentistry, graduate studies and population health. The Medical Center includes the state’s only Level I trauma center, only children’s hospital, only organ and bone marrow transplant program and the only Telehealth Center of Excellence, one of two in the nation.

Four of our hospitals – University Hospital, Children’s of Mississippi, Winfred L. Wiser Hospital for Women and Infants, and the Conerly Critical Care Hospital - are on our main campus in Jackson and together house 827 patient beds. View our interactive campus map.

University Hospital

University Hospital is the flagship hospital of the University of Mississippi Medical Center. It offers a complete range of primary and specialty care and is home to the state's only Level I trauma center, the highest designation. The facility provides patients with the latest in health care, medical research and technology.

Children's of Mississippi Hospital

The pediatric arm of UMMC that includes the state’s only children’s hospital and specialty clinics around the state, Children’s of Mississippi is home to the state’s sole pediatric emergency room; pediatric intensive care unit; Level IV neonatal intensive care unit, the highest designation; and cardiac surgery program for congenital heart conditions. The children’s hospital’s Batson Tower is home to the Children’s of Mississippi Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, and its Kathy and Joe Sanderson Tower includes a pediatric imaging suite, children's surgery and outpatient specialty clinics for follow-up care.

Winfred L. Wiser Hospital for Women and Infants

Wiser Hospital provides obstetric and gynecologic services, as well as advanced care for critically low- birthweight infants in its neonatal intensive care unit. It includes Women’s Urgent Care, Mississippi's only OB-GYN emergency room.

Wallace R. Conerly Critical Care Hospital

Our critical care hospital offers specialized intensive care for medical, cardiac, surgical and neuroscience patients. The state's only bone marrow transplant unit is housed here, providing a comfortable setting for a patient's extended stay.
