Deputy Chief Rusty Clark
Rusty Clark is the Deputy Chief of the UMMC Police and Public Safety Department. DC Clark has more than 30 years of law enforcement experience at both the municipal and state levels.
Before his appointment, DC Clark was the Director of the Mississippi Criminal Information Center under the Mississippi Department of Public Safety umbrella. In this role, DC Clark was responsible for maintaining a state-of-the-art criminal history repository. DC Clark oversaw MS NIBRS, MS SOR, MJIC, AFIS, Special Processing, and Applicant Processing. DC Clark served on many national committees for the FBI CJIS division. Also, in 2021, Governor Tate Reeves appointed DC Clark as Mississippi’s representative for SEARCH, a national organization designed to improve criminal history systems throughout the world.
Prior to his role as Director of CIC, DC, Clark served as a police officer with the Hattiesburg and Gulfport Police Departments, Mississippi State Trooper, traffic homicide investigator, Mississippi Bureau of Investigation agent, and MBI supervisor.
DC Clark has a Bachelor’s Degree in Administration of Justice from Mississippi College. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice Public Administration from Liberty University. DC Clark also attended the Henry F. Williams Homicide Seminar and the FBI Mississippi Command College.
