In-Car Cameras

With the installation of in-car cameras in UMMC PD fleet vehicles in September 2024, our patrol capabilities have significantly enhanced by providing an extra layer of accountability and situational awareness. These cameras fully integrate with our body-worn cameras, ensuring that all critical interactions are captured from multiple perspectives. This seamless integration improves transparency, evidence collection, and officer safety, allowing for a more complete and accurate record of events during patrols. 

Additionally, the new system will include mobile data terminals (MDTs) in each vehicle, streamlining report writing and allowing officers to access vital information without leaving their patrol area. This increased efficiency will enable quicker response times and ensure that our officers stay connected and informed while out in the field, further strengthening the safety of the UMMC community.
