SIMM Initiative
Main ContentThe Study Participation Process
Participants will complete the online course, share feedback via evaluation and receive CE credit.
Pre-Screening
Participating Mississippi providers will be asked to complete a pre-training survey to collect qualitative and quantitative pilot training program feedback as it relates to managing co-occurring intimate partner violence (IPV) and substance use disorders (SUDs) among pregnant and postpartum women in Mississippi.
Baseline
- Over half of pilot participants surveyed, had no previous IPV training (54.5)% and shared concerns on lack of preparedness to properly administer care.
- Quantitative analysis will include paired samples t-tests for pre- and post-surveys, and tests of significance to indicate the impact of completed provider training on (1) patient interactions, (2) satisfaction, (3) barriers encountered and (4) impact made for the future.
Follow-Up Visits
Follow-up via brief survey will take place 3 months post-training. The survey takes about 10-15 minutes to complete.
