The UMMC Cancer Center and Research Institute cores provide expertise and high quality, state-of-the-art equipment and laboratory processes for researchers seeking better ways to fight cancer.
By using core labs, researchers have:
- Access to experts in running particular experiments.
- Access to those who can help them plan procedures and testing.
- Access to equipment that is too expensive to install in every lab.
- Rapid response to their needs.
Six of the seven cores are housed in the Arthur C. Guyton Research Center on the University of Mississippi Medical Center campus. The seventh, the Drug Discovery Core, is part of the National Center for Natural Products Research at the University of Mississippi.
