Pediatric Specialty Clinics
Main ContentPediatric Pain Management Clinic
Children with sickle cell disease often experience pain crises related to their illness. Recent research shows that a combination of physical therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy is the best way to help manage these pain crises.
In response to this need, CIH hosts a monthly Pediatric Pain Management Clinic to assist pediatric patients and their family members in making healthy lifestyle changes to help them manage their pain successfully. Our team consists of a pediatric hematologist-oncologist, clinical psychologist and physical therapist. Children and family members meet with our team and receive medication management, nutrition education, skilled PT, prescribed home exercise programs and counseling specific to their identified needs.
Below are links to some brief and effective pediatric exercise videos provided by our integrative health staff. We would love for you to check them out!
