What are genetic clinics?
The care team at UMMC Genetics and Genomics holds routine clinic days concentrating on a single diagnosis and/or a limited set of diagnoses. The condition-specific clinics allow our experts to bring in health care professionals in other disciplines, such as physical therapists, who also specialize in that clinic’s diagnosis area.
This structure allows patients to see specialists in many different disciplines all in a single visit. Additionally, condition-focused clinics allow patients to receive care in an environment with others who share their concerns and priorities.
Currently, Genetics and Genomics Services at UMMC holds the following clinics:
- Amyloid Clinic
UMMC Riverchase, Flowood - Hereditary Cancer Clinic
