Dr. Thomas Joiner

A member of the UMMC School of Medicine Class of 1982, Dr. Tom Joiner dedicated over 35 years to serving the Jackson-area community through his Family Medicine practice. He later expanded his career to include state leadership and national advocacy, serving as President of the Central Mississippi Medical Society, President of the Mississippi State Medical Association, and as a Board Member of the Mississippi State Board of Medical Licensure. Most recently, he served as Chief Medical Officer of Molina Healthcare in Mississippi, helping to organize services to provide care for many Mississippians until his recent retirement due to illness.

UMMC remained important to Dr. Joiner throughout his life. He completed his residency there, served as Chief Resident and adjunct clinical faculty, and was a founding member of the Guardian Society. Medicine was not just Dr. Joiner's profession, it was his calling to serve others. Your support of this fund will ensure his legacy continues by supporting future students called to serve others.
