Child Development and Behavioral Health

Main Content

A child’s learning, behavior and development relate to well-being and health today and as that child grows. With this in mind, Children’s of Mississippi offers education, research and care in the area of Child Development and Behavior. Through the Center for Advancement of Youth, a multidisciplinary approach is taken, incorporating medical, psychological and social viewpoints in evaluating each child.

Our clinical team includes developmental pediatricians with certification in development and behavioral pediatrics, neurologists, geneticists, licensed pediatric psychologists and psychiatrists, licensed and certified social workers and behavior therapists. Together, they treat conditions including ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), behavior and learning problems, developmental delays, dyslexia, intellectual disabilities, Tourette’s syndrome, aggression and temper tantrums.

Telehealth is used as well, with the goal of ensuring that no child suffers from a lack of access to appropriate behavioral or developmental care and treatment.
