Community Focus Groups

"We want to hear from you" is the starter for a large conversation needed to understand and create interventions for gun violence injury prevention.  Part of our research includes focus group discussions on the key gaps in resources for firearm injury survivors in the Jackson metropolitan area. Results are used to refine existing resources and plan to develop new resources based on our community needs. During July, we are honored with the opportunity to share time and space with some of our community members.  With open minds, we spend evenings listening to some of their life experiences and how life gaps, disparities, and choices of gun violence have impacted their day-to-day lives. MS-VIP team asks a series of questions to understand how the community thinks our work will most effectively support our area's capital.
