Ph.D. Graduation and Honors Celebration

The virtual Ph.D. Graduation and Honors Celebration was held on May 7, 2020 to honor graduating PhD students and celebrate exceptional service and/or research productivity during their graduate careers.

2020 Fundamentals of Physiology Award - Dallas Ryan Ederer
Awarded for superior scholastic performance in the Fundamentals of Physiology course during the 2019-20 academic year.

2020 Excellence in Pharmacology Graduate Student Award - Olivia Travis
This award is presented to a Medical Pharmacology PhD Candidate who has demonstrated academic and research excellence, outstanding professionalism, and service to the UMMC community.

2020 Regions Outstanding Graduate Research Award - Jason Engel
The Regions Graduate Research Award and cash prize are presented in recognition of outstanding research accomplishments by a graduate student.

2020 Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences Program Director's Award

This award is in recognition of an overall weighted numerical average in the top 10 percent of the class.

This award is in recognition of research excellence by a postdoctoral fellow/instructor.

2020 Randall-Trustmark Outstanding Graduate Research Award - Elena Dent
The Randall-Trustmark Graduate Research Award and cash prize are presented in recognition of outstanding research accomplishments and scientific contributions by a graduate student.

2020 Robert A. Mahaffey, Jr. Memorial Award - Hannah Turbeville
Established in the memory of the late graduate student, this certificate and cash prize are awarded in recognition of exceptional research potential of young investigators. The student's name will be added to the Mahaffey Memorial plaque.
