Director's Welcome

Greetings, and welcome to the Center for Advancement of Youth (CAY).

The mission of CAY at the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) is to provide the best psychological, emotional, behavioral, and developmental services for the children of Mississippi and their families. We stress efficacy, efficiency and innovation in all we do. CAY represents the best providers from the Department of Pediatrics and the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences housed in one location to efficiently care for our kids.

• To enhance the health, social well-being, and community participation of children in the region by delivering expert multidisciplinary care, by optimizing developmental and behavioral outcomes, and through advocacy efforts.

• Creating a pathway to ensure healthy development for children and families, so they may thrive and reach their full potential.

We believe in the value of caring for all Mississipians. Our firm conviction is that we exist for you, the children and their families of this great state. We are convinced that children are our future, and that when they are doing well, we all benefit.

That’s why we strive to deliver the best care possible for all citizens, no matter where they live.
