MSN and Post-Masters Application Instructions

Application availability and deadline

Applications are accepted beginning July 1 of the year prior to the desired year of enrollment. The MSN and Post-Master’s programs have varying application deadlines and start dates. Typically, the nurse practitioner tracks only admit new students in August, and the application deadline is March 31. For the online Nurse Educator and Nursing and Health Care Administrator tracks, because they offer continuous enrollment, students may begin in the spring, summer or fall semesters. **For fall 2020 admission, the application deadline has been extended to April 30.** For spring admission, the application deadline is Oct. 15; for summer admission, the application deadline is Feb. 15.

How to apply

  • A complete application;
  • A nonrefundable $25 application fee paid by credit card or by check, made payable to the University of Mississippi Medical Center;
  • Official transcripts from all colleges attended, submitted to the Office of Enrollment Management;

Additional information for applicants

  • All transcripts become the property of the University of Mississippi Medical Center and cannot be returned to the applicant or forwarded to another school or individual. Transcripts must be sent directly by the school to the Office of Enrollment Management.

  • Facsimile documents will not be accepted.
  • Report and name, address or phone number change to the Office of Enrollment Management.
  • Do not send application materials to the School of Nursing.
  • All grades, including failing grades and grades on repeat courses, are used to calculate preadmission grade point averages.
  • The applicant is responsible for notifying the Office of Enrollment Management of all changes to the plan of study.
  • Out-of-state tuition charges apply for all applicants that live outside the state of Mississippi.
