Coming into medical school, I don't think I realized just how many different paths the life of a physician could take. During my second year, I was fortunate to have a Med Peds attending as my mentor. In shadowing her through her day to day activities and seeing the many aspects of her career that was possible through a Med Peds training, I realized that it could be the perfect fit for me. Having a large presence of Med Peds physicians as attendings on both the Medicine and Pediatrics side gave me further opportunity to confirm that notion. Now in my fourth year of residency, I couldn't be happier with my decision to pursue this training and the chance to take comprehensive care of patients from small to tall.
Pre COVID times, you could often find me out catching up with friends over a meal at many of our great local restaurants or catching live music at Duling Hall or Cathead Distillery. Although life in Jackson (and everywhere) looks a little different now, I still enjoy spending time out at the Reservoir with friends, going for runs around Fondren and Eastover, catching a Happy Hour beverage outside on the patio at Saltines or sitting out on my balcony at the District and reading a new book from Lemuria.
