Nationally recognized orthopaedic specialists at Children's of Mississippi, a part of University of Mississippi Medical Center, are skilled in diagnosing and treating infants, children, teens and young adults with bone, joint and muscle conditions. Their advanced training and education allows them to bring cutting-edge solutions to the children of Mississippi. These solutions may include observation, physical therapy, braces, splints or surgery.
Our pediatric orthopaedists know how to examine and treat children in a way that makes them relaxed and comfortable. Our physician specialties cover the full spectrum of pediatric orthopaedics, including trauma, hand, spine, sports, neuromuscular problems and any type of limb deformity. In addition, they use equipment specially designed with smaller bodies in mind. The inpatient care team includes specialty nurses, pediatric physical therapists, pediatric anesthesiologists, child life therapists and social workers.
Working closely with our orthopaedic surgery team is a non-operative pediatric orthopaedist, with subspecialty interests in non-surgical treatment (Ponseti) of clubfeet, general pediatric orthopaedics, concussion, obesity/ fitness, and bone health.
To further enhance care, team members have the full resources of Children's of Mississippi at their disposal. This includes the ability to collaborate with other departments, such as oncology, genetics, endocrinology and rheumatology, to provide life-changing orthopaedic treatments for young patients.
