At Children’s of Mississippi, our medical team understands that children are not miniature adults. Children have specialized needs, both physical and emotional. We are dedicated to making your child feel as comfortable as possible while reducing caregivers' concerns and apprehensions.
We have pediatric surgeons and physicians that specialize in anesthesiology, general surgery, urology, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, cardiothoracic, interventional cardiology, neurosurgery, dentistry, gastroenterology, craniofacial, orthopedics, plastic surgery, pulmonology, hematology, oncology and fetal medicine. Over 10,000 outpatient and inpatient surgeries are performed each year at the state’s only hospital for children.
When your child requires surgery, you may rest in the idea that pediatric surgeries are performed in the operating suites, housed at the Kathy and Joe Sanderson Tower. These large suites are equipped with advanced technology that support routine and complex surgeries. These surgeries are offered by our world-class surgical teams to all children. After surgery, your child will recover in the post anesthesia care unit (PACU) where patients are in sight of the central nurses’ station for careful monitoring.
Pediatric anesthesiologists at Children’s of Mississippi are experts at providing just the right doses of medication for your child during a surgery or procedure. From the tiniest newborns to teenagers, our pediatric anesthesia specialists know the best way to keep your child safe and comfortable during, and after their procedure.
Visitors to Sanderson Tower will find convenient spaces to eat, pick up last-minute items, rest, and reflect. Garage C, connected to Sanderson Tower by a covered walkway, offers the closest parking. It is easily accessed from Woodrow Wilson.
At Children’s of Mississippi, our pediatric experts work together to complete a full circle of care for your child.
