Children's Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology
Main ContentChildren's Immunologic Testing
Many parents are concerned about the strength of their child's immune system and whether the youngster has normal immune function. A truly weak immune system is characterized by recurrent infections; wounds that take a long time to heal or do not heal at all; infections with unusual organisms; and/or constant infections, particularly of the respiratory tract.
A comprehensive evaluation, including appropriate lab tests, by Children's of Mississippi immunology specialists will determine if one or more elements of the immune system may be malfunctioning or missing. A specific treatment plan then is developed to meet the young patient’s unique needs.
