Program: Cardiology
Year: PGY IV
Undergrad School: Mississippi State University
Medical School: University of Mississippi School of Medicine
Residency: University of Mississippi Medical Center
Why did you choose UMMC?:
The Jackson area has been my home for my whole life, and I love it here! In addition, we have such supportive faculty who advocate on our behalf and genuinely care about our well-being inside and outside of the hospital. To top it off, we have some of the most incredible patients who continue to teach me about both life and medicine every single day. I genuinely believe that between the volume and complexity of pathophysiology here, you will leave prepared to manage any problem you will face in the community.
Career Interest:
There are days where I feel like I want to be an adult cardiologist, and there are others where I think I want to do academic Med-Peds, so the short answer is that I'm not sure quite yet.
What you like to do in your free time?:
I love to hang out with my wife, Kerri, and our two dogs, Hattie and Penny. I'm an avid outdoorsman and try to find time to hunt and fish when I can. I'm also a pretty solid shortstop for my church league softball team.
