What do you like about the program?
The process of making a rank list and trying to decide where you want to spend the next four years of training can be very overwhelming. When interviewing with different programs and making my rank list, it was obvious to me that I would get great dermatology training at any number of programs across the country. What set UMMC apart from other programs to me was the faculty and residents. The faculty are brilliant, down to earth, approachable, and so diverse. They give you an appropriate amount of autonomy, but are also glad to give guidance when needed. One thing I appreciate the most about our group of residents is that we all have a healthy work-life balance. We work hard and study hard, but we also value time with our family and we love to all get together outside of work. I love our program because I feel encouraged and supported by my co-residents, faculty, and administration, and I feel that they truly want me to succeed.
