Rowland Medical Library Spotlight: Thieme’s MedOne Education adds new learning modules

MedOne Education, produced by Thieme Medical Publishing Group, supports medical education through its learning platform. MedOne Education includes well-known books such as Gilroy’s Atlas of Anatomy, a gold-standard anatomy title known for clear, full-color anatomical illustrations and student-friendly organization. However, MedOne Education’s content extends far beyond anatomy to include a wide range of foundational and clinical science resources.

Two new learning tools, Pre-Clinical Capsules and Clinical Capsules, now enhance the platform. Pre-Clinical Capsules offer concise, high‑yield modules covering foundational concepts to support coursework and exam preparation. Clinical Capsules are designed for students preparing for clinical rotations, shelf exams, and USMLE exams. Each module includes brief, structured sections on epidemiology, pathogenesis, clinical presentation, diagnosis, and treatment — providing quick access to high-yield facts.

MedOne Education also includes downloadable images and videos, note‑taking features, and playlist creation for personalized study and teaching support. The Self-Assessment section offers thousands of USMLE‑style questions linked to Thieme books, allowing students to customize practice by topic and receive detailed explanations for every answer.

All UMMC affiliates can access MedOne Education both on and off-campus.  Users are encouraged to create a personal account and log in with each use to access self-assessment questions and advanced features.
