Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award

The Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award, presented by The Arnold P. Gold Foundation, recognizes a graduating medical student and a faculty member who exemplify humanism in medicine. This prestigious honor celebrates individuals who demonstrate exceptional clinical excellence alongside remarkable compassion and respect for patients, their families, and colleagues in healthcare. The awardees are selected by M4 members of the UMMC Jeanette Pullen, MD, chapter of the Gold Humanism Honor Society. This year, the recipients are Dr. Jarrett Morgan (pictured left) and Mr. Tyrikus Hayes, MS4 (pictured right).

Dr. Morgan serves as an Associate Professor of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. Mr. Tyrikus Hayes, a senior medical student, is set to begin his Psychiatry residency with the United States Navy at the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, Virginia in June. Congratulations to both of these distinguished individuals for earning this well-deserved recognition!
