Anticipated Enhancements to ExamSoft
ExamSoft has been in use at UMMC for many years. It is a trusted application used by many programs of study to administer high-stakes assessments. During the month of August, two enhancements were implemented to streamline application access and grade posting.
Single sign-on was added to ExamSoft. This allows users to access the application with the same credentials used for Canvas and Workday. Users just click the log-in button applicable to their role and enter their UMMC email address and password. The user’s name appears in the top right-hand corner of the screen. Detailed instructions are available here.
While single sign-on is convenient for users, the second enhancement addresses a long-standing pain point for faculty and course administrators. Previously, faculty were forced to manually enter grades in the Canvas course Gradebook or export the Gradebook, add the scores, and re-import the Gradebook. Both options left room for errors and placed a significant time obligation on the responsible party. Now, there is another option. Thanks to an integration set up in Canvas, courses may now be synced with ExamSoft. When synced, enrollment updates and name changes are automatically sent to the coordinating course in ExamSoft.
Requests must be submitted to have a course synced.
