Rowland Medical Library Spotlights Self-Directed Learning Tools in McGraw-Hill Medical
Question/answer banks are useful self-directed learning tools designed to help medical students study course content and prepare for exams. McGraw-Hill Medical’s Review Questions connect students to thousands of questions/answers developed from premier textbooks in the foundational and clinical sciences. Students can generate multiple-choice quizzes for a particular topic or subtopic based on their individual learning objectives.
Rowland Medical Library subscribes to several McGraw-Hill Medical platforms, including AccessAnesthesiology, AccessCardiology, AccessEmergency Medicine, AccessMedicine, AccessNeurology, AccessObGyn, AccessPediatrics, Access Surgery, and Case Files Collection. The number of review questions available varies across platforms and book titles. For example, Schwartz’s Principles of Surgery is part of AccessSurgery and contains over 900 corresponding multiple-choice questions. Harrison’s Internal Medicine is part of AccessMedicine and has over 1200 questions.
McGraw-Hill Medical requires users to register and create a McGraw-Hill Access Profile to unlock premium features like the Review Questions section. An individual profile also allows users to bookmark favorite content, track self-assessment progress, and download images. Creating an Access Profile is a quick and free process for UMMC affiliates. Once registered, the personal account works on all McGraw-Hill Medical platforms.
