Rowland Medical Library Spotlights: LibKey

LibKey.io is a tool that streamlines the process of finding journal articles using Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) and PubMed Identifiers (PMIDs) numbers. LibKey.io integrates Rowland Medical Library’s e-journal holdings, UMMC authentication, and article linking to connect users to journal articles with one click. All UMMC affiliates can directly access articles without having to navigate different publisher platforms.
Imagine a scenario where Dr. Smith is reading a research article and finds a reference in the bibliography to explore further. To access the full text, Dr. Smith opens LibKey.io, enters the article’s DOI number, and within seconds, gets a direct link to download the PDF or view the HTML version. This quick process saves time and provides immediate access to the research.
