Curriculum 2025 – Pathways In Mental Health Education
The Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior consists of faculty, trainees, and technical and support staff that share a common mission:
- To make discoveries that advance our understanding of the human mind, interactions with the body, and the practice of health care
- To educate the next generation of scientists, doctors, and other health professionalsÂ
- To serve as stewards of care and science in Mississippi and beyond
The 2022-2023 academic year is an exciting time for education in the UMMC Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior. Although our curricula are always evolving through continuous quality improvement, Curriculum 2025 – Pathways In Mental Health Education represents a more dramatic shift. With input from program directors, faculty, clinicians, residents, interns, and medical students, Curriculum 2025 includes a shared, protected education block for all clinical training programs that allows us to further enhance inter-professional learning, program-specific learning, quality improvement, scholarly projects, and supervision.
