Integrated IR Residency Program
Program Director
Welcome From the Program Director
Welcome to the University of Mississippi Medical Center Department of Radiology's Integrated Interventional Radiology Residency Program. As physicians at UMMC, which is host to the state's only children's hospital and a dedicated cancer center, we serve a large diverse population of patients from all across our region.
Our group is composed of six full-time interventional radiologists. In addition to our main campus where we serve the University Hospital, including adult, pediatric, women and infant facilities, we operate an outpatient clinic.
Our interventional radiology team covers the affiliated Veteran's Affairs hospital and we are proud to announce the opening of a state of the art interventional radiology department in the University Cardiovascular Center in late 2020.
Integrated Interventional Radiology Residents are offered a well-balanced training experience in our residency program with emphasis on excellence in education, service and research. The integrated curriculum consists of PGY 2-4 years focused on diagnostic radiology with a few IR rotations interspersed; and the PGY 5 and 6 years are exclusively interventional radiology or interventional radiology-related rotations, such as neuro-interventional radiology, vascular surgery or cardiac imaging.
