Welcome from the Director

Charlotte TaylorWelcome to the University of Mississippi Medical Center Department of Radiology's Residency Program. As physicians at UMMC, which is host to the state's only children's hospital and a dedicated cancer center, we serve a large diverse population of patients from all across our region. We have parallel complementary missions to provide top notch care to our patients while at the same time training residents in our program to become competent, confident radiologists.

Residents are offered a well-balanced training experience in our residency program with emphasis on excellence in education, service and research. Structured fundamental reading and physics curricula, daily didactic noon conferences, journal club, medical and surgical specialty tumor conferences, funded AIRP course, supportive mentoring for journal publication, conference submission and research opportunities are all important components of our program. The keystone of our residency program is ample view-box training in rotations spanning all modalities in radiology and a wide range of pathology reflective of our patient population.

Our training environment well prepares our graduating residents and fellows for any academic or private practice environment.
