The 23rd annual Mississippi Miracles Radiothon will be broadcasting live from the BankPlus Community Room in the Kathy and Joe Sanderson Tower Feb. 29-March 1. Since 2001, the annual fundraiser has raised more than $7.4 million for Children's of Mississippi.

March 1

Read Across America, a day of reading that also marks the birthday of famed children’s author Dr. Seuss, is set for March 1 at Children’s of Mississippi, and dressing as favorite children’s book characters is encouraged.

March 13

“Wild Animals I Have Known: Alpha-Gal Syndrome, the Three C’s and Other Tangential Tales” will be presented by Barrett H. Barnes, MD, associate professor of pediatrics and program director of the pediatric gastroenterology fellowship program at the University of Virginia, from noon to 1 p.m. March 13 in the S123 Conference Room at UMMC or via WebEx by clicking here to join the meeting. Run the Rainbow for Children’s includes a marathon as well as a half marathon, 10K and 5K. So far, more than 700 runners and walkers have signed up.

Through March 22

Tickets are on sale for the Friends of Children’s Hospital Doo Dah Day New Car Giveaway, and a 2024 Honda Civic LX will be awarded to a lucky ticket holder March 22.

March 23

Hal’s St. Paddy’s Parade and Festival and the “city sweep,” when marchers from Children’s of Mississippi trade Mardi Gras beads for donations to support the state’s only children’s hospital.
