New pediatric and med/peds residents at UMMC

Pediatric Research Day, held July 21 in the BankPlus Community Room of the Kathy and Joe Sanderson Tower, featured a record 23 posters showing research from our faculty, pediatric residents and medical students who participate in the Pediatric Research and Clinical Education Program, or PReCEP.

Awards were given for PReCEP poster presentations and freestyle poster presentations. The winner of the People’s Choice Award was determined by voting during the event.

Winners in the PReCEP category are Deja Pegues, first place; Sherilyn Sanders Good, second place; and Megan Mascaro, third place.

Freestyle pediatrics-related research winners include Jasmine Key, first place; Dr. Grace Beasley, second place; and Timothy King, third place.

The People’s Choice Award went to Max Pappas.

The PReCEP participants, who are beginning their second year of medical school, and their faculty mentors are:
