| Collection Information: | No special patient preparation is required. Obtain by standard collection procedures. Full tube required. | ||
| Transport Information: | Deliver to lab immediately. All specimens must be signed into the laboratory. | ||
| Reference Client: | If unable to deliver to the lab within 1 hour, centrifuge the specimen and remove serum from the red cells. Store and transport at 2-8° C within 24 hours. If longer storage is required, store and transport at -20° C. | ||
| Causes for Rejection: | Improperly labeled, incorrect container, contaminated, insufficient volume, incorrect/delay in transport, hemolysis, lipemia. | ||
| Reference Range: | ANA (IU): < 1.0 = Negative; > 1.0 = Positive; > 3.0 = Strongly Positive | ||
| Anti-DNA Double Stranded (IU), SSB Ab (IU), SSA Ab (IU): < 25 = Negative; 25-30 = Borderline Positive; 30-60 = Low Positive; 60-200 = Positive; > 200 = Strong Positive | |||

| Additional Information: | When an ANA-Reflex to ENA is ordered, if the ANA is positive a portion of the ANA panel will be performed. | ||
