| Collection Information: | No special patient preparation is required. Obtain specimen by standard collection procedures. | ||
| Transport Information: | Deliver to lab immediately. All specimens must be signed into the laboratory. | ||
| Reference Client: | If unable to deliver to lab immediately, centrifuge the specimen and remove the serum from the red cells. Store and transport the specimen at 2-8° C within 14 days. If longer periods of storage are required the specimen must be frozen at -20° C. | ||
| Causes for Rejection: | Improperly labeled, incorrect container, contaminated, insufficient quantity, incorrect/delay in transport, excessive hemolysis. | ||
