| Collection Information: | No special patient preparation is required. Obtain specimen by standard collection procedures. | ||
| Transport Information: | Deliver to lab immediately. All specimens must be signed into the laboratory. | ||
| Reference Clients: | If unable to deliver to the lab within 1 hour, store and transport at 2-8° C. Specimen is stable as long as it remains tightly capped. | ||
| Causes for Rejection: | Improperly labeled, incorrect container, contaminated, insufficient quantity, incorrect transport. | ||
| Reference Range: | None. Limit of detection, 10 mg/dl. | ||
| Additional Information: | Urine ethanol levels are not necessarily reflective of amounts ingested. The presence of ethanol in urine only reflects the ingestion of ethanol. Any desired information gained from quantitative results must be gathered from blood specimens. | ||
