Global Outreach

Our department is proud to offer global, humanitarian trip opportunities to our residents. Upper level residents may take trips to areas faced with social, economic and health challenges. Past humanitarian efforts include trips to:

• Honduras
• Guatemala
• Migori, Kenya
• Nalerigu, Ghana
• Trinidad
• Catacamas, Olancho, Hondurus  

While assessing and providing for the healthcare needs of an international community presents challenges and obstacles, it also provides unique, rewarding opportunities to gain new perspectives and make a difference in the lives of those in need. Experiences from these trips will not only enhance their education, but also have a significant positive impact on the lives of people and communities in desperate need of medical care.

This program will be an enriching experience for otolaryngology residents and a boon to those in need. We hope you continue to support and encourage our residents in this endeavor. Please consider making a gift to the Otolaryngology Resident Mission Fund to help with the residents' trip expenses and purchasing a small instrument set to use on the trips. All donors will receive recognition at the annual resident graduation ceremony.
