AAO

Annually during the fall and usually in the month of October, PGY-4 residents are sent to the American Academy of Ophthalmology Conference. In recent years, our residents have attended the conference in Orlando, FL, Chicago, IL and San Francisco, CA. At the AAO, they have traditionally participated in the AUPO SCOR Course or the Star S4 IR Surgeon Certification Course. At more than 20,000 annual attendees at the National Conference, this is a great time for our residents to network with UMMC Ophthalmology alumni, seek job recruitment opportunities and experience the latest innovations in the field of ophthalmology. Residents are relieved of their call duties and clinical responsibilities by the PGY-3 residents.
