Poster SessionTuesday, March 31, 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.Norman C. Nelson Student Union Gymnasium*MSRP may follow a different schedule
The Department of Medicine invites all UMMC investigators and scholars campus-wide to submit abstracts of their ongoing research and/or clinical scholarship to the Department of Medicine Research Day. There will be several ways to participate this year, including the trainee competition, oral presentations, a non-juried open session, and a new Medicine faculty poster competition. Research categories are Basic Science, Clinical, and Population-Based Research, with awards presented in each category. Interesting clinical vignettes will also be accepted, but are not eligible for awards. We especially welcome Medical Student Research Program (MSRP) submissions again this year. Poster space is very limited, so the highest impact submissions will be selected for inclusion on a first come, first served basis – submit your abstract as early as possible for thorough review and consideration.
Judging staff, comprised of senior UMMC faculty, will review each submission prior to Research Day to select the top three finalists in Basic, Clinical, and Population-Based Research. Finalists will be notified prior to the event, and will make oral presentations to the judges on Research Day to determine the best poster in each category.
Those not selected as finalists are encouraged to answer questions from attendees and faculty during the session, but are also invited to browse other posters, collaborate with colleagues, ask questions of attendees, and explore the poster session.
