Congratulations to Dr. Kathleen Young for being selected to receive a scholarship to participate in the Millsaps College Business Advantage Program for the fall of 2018. The program will have approximately 18-24 total participants (8 faculty from UMMC) with other participants from different industries. The Business Advantage Program for Professionals is a certificate course designed to give working professionals an exciting and comprehensive exposure to the most essential business topics, and is not geared specifically for healthcare.
Congratulations to Dr. Hannah Ray for being selected as the recipient of the 2018 Gold Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award in Family Medicine. Each year’s third-year medical school class picks honorees from among their classmates and the residents who teach and guide them. Dr. Ray will be recognized at the Gold Humanism Induction Ceremony on Thursday July, 26, 2018.
Congratulations to Dr. Liana Campbell who was named by the Chief Residents Council as one of four house officers to receive the "Spotlight Award" for the 2nd quarter of the 2017-18 academic year. The quarterly award recognizes residents who display leadership, dedication to service, commitment to patient-centered care and commitment to the enrichment of themselves and others through education, teaching and scholarship. Other recipients named are Dr. Eric McDonald - emergency medicine, Dr. Jay Dolia - neurology and Dr. Marlaina Berch - pediatrics.
