Residency and Fellowship Program Update

The Department of Dermatology recently held our annual graduation ceremony, celebrating the successful completion of our residency and fellowship programs. We are pleased to announce that all of our June 2024 graduates are now board-certified dermatologists, continuing our program’s 100% board pass rate. Dermatology faculty and staff are extremely proud of our graduates and looking forward to training the next class of residents.

• Dr. Hannah Badon joined the Hattiesburg Clinic at their location in Petal, Mississippi.
• Dr. Teel Liddell joined our department as a faculty member this past September.
• Dr. Tyler Marion joined Dermatology Associates of Denison in Denison, Texas.
• Dr. Ruth McTighe joined Waccamaw Dermatology in Summerville, South Carolina.
• Dr. Colleen Powers joined Magnolia Dermatology in Jackson, Mississippi.
• Dr. Laura Rezac was accepted into UMMC Dermatology's Mohs fellowship porgram.

• Dr. Julissa Jimenez was presented the “Resident Quality Improvement Award” 
• Dr. Teel Liddell was presented the “Resident Teaching Award” 
• Dr. Hollis Burrow was presented the “Resident Professional Award” 
• Dr. Laura Rezac was presented the “Resident Research Award,” "Residency Leadership Award," and “Resident Award in Dermatopathology” 
• Dr. Adam Byrd was presented the “Teacher of the Year” award
• Dr. Buu Duong was presented with the "Affiliated Faculty Teaching Award"
