Residency and Fellowship Program Update
The UMMC Dermatology Residency Program currently boasts 11 residents in training in the PGY-2 through -4 years with four PGY-1s joining us next year. Our fifth class of graduates finished in June 2020, although graduation looked a little different this year due to COVID-19.
Dr. Mark Braswell is now an active duty dermatologist at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois. Dr. Caroline Doo is practicing at a private practice in the San Francisco Bay Area and is applying to Mohs fellowships this year. Dr. Madelyn King also is at a private practice, in Mobile, Alabama. Dr. Thy Huynh is completing a pediatric dermatology fellowship at Harvard University and plans to return to UMMC next fall as our pediatric dermatologist.
The department saw its second graduating class of fellows in June as well. Mohs Fellow Dr. Ritika Bhandari will be practicing at a clinic in Tampa, Florida.
We would like to welcome our new residents, Drs. Alexandra Jenkins, Sarah McClees, Joshua Ortego, and Molly Webb. All are excellent candidates with superb credentials who will contribute much to the residency program and the future of dermatology practice. We are pleased to have you learn a bit more about them on the next page.
