Thank you to all who participated in the Spring Into Service day at the Mississippi Food Network on Saturday, April 5th. What a wonderful showing of our faculty, staff, residents, and medical students and a testimony to how much we care not only about our patients but also our community. Thank you to Dr. Michelle Sheth for organizing the event. We had close to 50 volunteers, including several members of our faculty, residents, CRNAs, nurses, admin staff, and medical students. Our task was to fill as many meal kits for children in the allotted time. In less than 3 hours our team packaged 1,748 meal kits which equates to 4,608 meals. The meals we packaged will be distributed to more than 60 counties across the State of Mississippi.
Dr. Latoya Mason-Bolden has been selected to be a part of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)'s Hear Her Campaign. This international campaign seeks to raise awareness of urgent maternal warning signs during and after pregnancy and improve communication between patients and their healthcare providers. The attached infographics launched on their social media platforms earlier this month. She is truly honored to be a part of this program that aims to improve maternal health and well-being. Congratulations!
