Urgent Care - Wiser Hospital for Women and Infants

As the only Level III referral center in the state, UMMC receives high-risk maternity and gynecological patients from all 82 counties in Mississippi as well as from the adjoining states of Louisiana, Arkansas and Alabama.

Located on the ground floor of Wiser Hospital for Women and Infants, Women’s Urgent Care is the only facility in the region dedicated to comprehensive care for obstetric and gynecologic emergencies.

Women's Urgent Care features:

• Eight patient rooms with fetal monitoring capabilities, specialized OB-GYN stretchers, televisions, and comfortable visitor seating
• Two patient exam rooms for less-acute urgencies that also offer fetal monitoring
• A large clinical work room housing point-of-care testing instruments
• Immediate availability of ultrasound imaging

Residents train in the Women's Urgent Care clinic for a two-month rotation during PGY-1.
