Prospective Residents and Fellows

The Office of Graduate Medical Education (GME) at the University of Mississippi Medical Center is the hub for our institution's nearly 690 house officers divided among 28 residency and 47 fellowship programs. These training programs play an integral role in our continuing education of health care providers and are another differentiator for UMMC, as the state's only academic medical center.

Four distinct priorities serve as the pillars of our GME culture:

  • Community
  • Integrity
  • Intellectual curiosity
  • Workplace enjoyment
As a prospective resident or fellow, we encourage you to learn more about our culture by viewing the brief overview video on this page. Also, be sure to visit the virtual tour locations to see some of the areas you'll be spending time should you continue your medical education with us.
