Assistant Professor  - Health Systems Administration 

Job Title:  Assistant Professor (Non-Tenured track)

Job Summary: The University of Mississippi Medical Center invites applications for a 12-month non-tenure track position in the Health Systems Administration Program, Department of Health Sciences. This is a 12-month appointment (non-tenure track) at the initial rank of assistant professor. Salary is commensurate with experiences. The Department of Health Sciences offers baccalaureate and master’s degrees in both health systems administration and health informatics and information management. This position is primarily dedicated to degree programs in Health Systems Administration. Classes are offered in an online format.

All work is performed on campus. This is not a remote position.

Position Requirements:
  • Doctoral degree (or anticipate imminent completion of a doctoral degree) in a health related and/or higher education program
  • Expertise in health administration, health policy, and performance improvement.
 Preferred:
  • Teaching experience
  • Experience with Canvas LMS
Responsibilities include:
  • Oversight of course content
  • Teaching across programs within the department as necessary
  • Participation in department, school, and Medical Center committees, research activity, faculty development and faculty meetings
  • And any other duties as assigned by the Chair of the Department of Health Sciences and the Dean of SHRP

Health Sciences is one of six departments in the School of Health Related Professions. The School is one of seven, including Dentistry, Graduate Studies, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Population Health located on the campus of the University of Mississippi Medical Center, a major health sciences campus located in the state capitol of Jackson, with an area population of more than 500,000. The medical center campus provides a collegial atmosphere with opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration.

Assistant Professor - Health Informatics and Information Management  

JOB TITLE: Assistant Professor ( Non-Tenured track) 

JOB SUMMARY: The University of Mississippi Medical Center invites applications for a full-time faculty position in the Health Informatics and Information Management Program, Department of Health Sciences. This is a 12-month appointment (non-tenure track) at the initial rank of assistant professor. Salary is commensurate with experience. The department offers an upper division two-plus-two baccalaureate program, a master’s program in health informatics and information management, and a post-baccalaureate certificate in health informatics. Classes are offered in an online format.

All work is performed on campus. This is not a remote position.

Position Requirements:
• Masters degree, with subsequent completion of doctoral program expected.
• Expertise in revenue cycle management, data analytics, electronic health records, and system design and
development.
• Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) credential or other AHIMA credential (e.g. RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, CDIP, CHDA, or CHPS)

Responsibilities include:
• Teaching baccalaureate and master’s level courses in health informatics & information management.
• Participation in departmental,school, and Medical Center committees, student advisement, and research activities.
