New faculty join UMMC academic ranks
Medical Center leadership is proud to announce the following additions to its faculty and leadership staff.
Dr. Lyndsey Dill
The University of Mississippi Medical Center School of Nursing welcomes Dr. Lyndsey Dill as an assistant professor.
Dill brings extensive experience in advanced nursing practice, clinical education, research and health care leadership. She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from UMMC in 2026, her Master of Science in Nursing as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2014, and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from UMMC in 2011.
Prior to joining the School of Nursing faculty, Dill served as a clinical research nurse practitioner with The MIND Center at UMMC and provided geriatric care through UMMC’s Department of Geriatrics and The MIND Center Clinic. Her clinical background also includes acute, postoperative, and outpatient cardiovascular care, heart failure management, and critical care.
Dill has served as a clinical instructor with the UMMC School of Nursing from 2021-2024, teaching and mentoring nursing students through classroom, clinical and simulation-based education.
She is actively involved in advancing care for older adults and individuals living with dementia through her work with the State of Mississippi Strategic Plan for Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias and The MIND Center. Dill is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, the Mississippi Nurses Association and the American Nurses Association.

Dr. Teel Liddell
The University of Mississippi Medical Center’s School of Medicine welcomes Dr. Lucette “Teel” Liddell as an assistant professor in the Department of Dermatology, where she will be practicing Mohs surgery.
Dr. Liddell earned her Doctor of Medicine from Baylor College of Medicine, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She completed an internal medicine internship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital at Harvard Medical School before continuing her dermatology training at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
She previously served as an assistant professor in the Department of Dermatology at UMMC after completing her residency in the department. She then completed her fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery at UMMC.
She earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas at Austin.

Dr. Aby Thomas
Dr. Aby Thomas has joined the University of Mississippi Medical Center School of Medicine as an assistant professor in the Department of Radiology.
Thomas returns to UMMC after serving as an assistant instructor in the Department of Pediatric Neuroradiology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He previously served as an assistant professor of radiology and pediatrics at UMMC from 2021 to 2025.
With more than two decades of teaching experience, Thomas has worked at hospitals in India, the United Kingdom, Nepal, Singapore and New York.
Thomas is certified by the American Board of Radiology in diagnostic radiology with a subspecialty certification in pediatric radiology.
