New faculty join UMMC academic ranks
Medical Center leadership is proud to announce the following additions to its faculty and leadership staff.
Dr. Shenika Kelly

Dr. Shenika Kelly, who practices general dentistry at Kelly Family Dentistry in Flowood, has joined the Medical Center faculty as an assistant professor of endodontics in the School of Dentistry.
Kelly earned the Doctor of Dental Medicine in 2012 from the UMMC School of Dentistry before completing her general practice residency at LSU Health Sciences Center. She has also practiced as a general dentist at the Greater Meridian Health Clinic in Meridian, Family Health Care Clinic in Raleigh and East Mississippi Correctional Facility in Meridian.
Kelly has held a number of national leadership positions. Her record of volunteer service is extensive.
She is a member of the American Dental Association, Mississippi Dental Association and Beta Kappa Chi Scientific Honorary Society.

Dr. Mallory Stokes

Dr. Mallory Stokes, recently an occupational therapist and fieldwork student coordinator for the Vicksburg Warren School District, has joined the Medical Center faculty as an assistant professor of occupational therapy in the School of Health Related Professions.
Board-certified, Stokes earned her Master of Occupational Therapy at UMMC in 2016 and completed her Doctor of Occupational Therapy in 2023 at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Certified through UAB’s Center for the Integration of Research, Teaching and Learning, she also has previous teaching experience as a guest lecturer/speaker and as a participant or organizer of laboratory experiences at UMMC.
Her clinical experience includes a position as a PRN occupational therapist for Methodist Rehabilitation Center. Her research interests include mental health and wellness in children and/or adolescents with disabilities, the evolving role of school-based occupational therapists as a related service, and more.
Stokes is a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association and Mississippi Occupational Therapy Association, and the leadership and scholarship honor societies, Phi Kappa Phi, Omicron Delta Kappa and Order of Omega.
