Dr. Rachana Marathi
Dr. Rachana Marathi, recently a rheumatology fellow at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, has joined the Medical Center faculty as an assistant professor of medicine-rheumatology in the School of Medicine.
Marathi earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 2007 at Osmania Medical College in Hyderabad, India, followed by her residency in internal medicine at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.
She worked as an assistant professor of medicine in the Division of Hospital Medicine at UMMC from 2017-2022. Prior to joining UMMC, she worked as a hospitalist at the Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans and at Piedmont Newton Healthcare in Covington, Georgia.
Marathi has multiple peer-reviewed publications and abstracts to her credit, along with several poster presentations at local, regional and national conferences and events.
She is a member of the American College of Rheumatology, Society of Hospital Medicine and American College of Physicians, which she serves as a reviewer for its National Abstract Competition.
Her areas of interest include SLE, inflammatory arthritis, crystal arthropathies, osteoporosis and bone health.

Dr. Muhammad Waleed Raza
Dr. Muhammad Waleed Raza, recently an internal medicine resident at HCA Florida Orange Park Hospital, has joined the Medical Center faculty as an assistant professor of medicine-hospital medicine in the School of Medicine.
Raza earned his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree in 2018 at Faisalabad Medical University in Faisalabad, Pakistan. He completed his internship at Allied Hospital in Faisalabad. In Faisalabad, he also served as medical officer at Al-Noor Hospital and at Faisal Hospital.
Raza has coauthored a number of scientific publications. He is a member of the American College of Physicians.

Dr. Prashant Yarlagadda
Dr. Prashant Yarlagadda, who recently completed a fellowship in precision (adaptive) radiation oncology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, has joined the Medical Center faculty as an instructor of radiation oncology in the School of Medicine.
Yarlagadda, who holds a Master of Science in cancer biology from Louisiana Tech University in Rushton, Louisiana, earned his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree at Gandhi Medical College, NTR University, in Secunderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India, in 2002.
He was awarded the Diplomate of National Board (DNB) degree in radiation oncology in 2013 at the Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital and Research Institute in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India. He gained research and clinical experience at a variety of institutions, including the Helen. F. Graham Cancer Center, ChristianaCare Hospital, in Newark, Delaware; Drexel University-Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Omega Hospitals in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India; Guntur Medical College in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, India; Surya Global Cancer Hospital in Kaninada, Andhra Pradesh, India; and the American Oncology Institute in Mangalagiri, Andhra Pradesh, India.
Yarlagadda, who is a member of the Association of Radiation Oncologists of India, has been a speaker at approximately 50 scientific conferences and meetings in India.
