Join Us at the Employee Benefits Expo
Published on Monday, September 23, 2024
We’re excited to announce the UMMC Employee Benefits Expo on Thursday, Sept. 26 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Clinical Sciences Walkway. This event is your opportunity to meet with vendor representatives and explore the options available to you. Whether you have questions about health insurance, dental plans or other benefits, the expo is the perfect place to get the information you need.
Attending the expo is a great way to prepare for the upcoming open enrollment period in October. You’ll have the chance to gather information and gain a clearer understanding of the benefits that best suit your needs. We encourage all benefits-eligible employees to attend and make the most of this valuable resource.
As we approach the open enrollment period, it’s time to start thinking about how your benefits can best serve you and your family in the coming year. We’re here to help you navigate this important process, ensuring you have the information and resources you need to make informed decisions.
The Importance of Open Enrollment
Annual open enrollment is your once-a-year opportunity to review and make changes to your benefits. This is the only time each year, aside from a qualifying life event, when you can adjust your current benefit elections. The decisions you make during this period will take effect on January 1, 2025.
Flex Account Re-Enrollment
A special reminder for those with flex medical reimbursement or flex dependent care accounts: you must re-enroll each year. These accounts will not automatically carry over, so make sure to make your elections during the open enrollment period.
New Benefit for 2025
UMMC has partnered with Fiducius to assist benefits-eligible employees with their student loans. Fiducius provides in-depth education and comprehensive support with student loan restructuring options, including the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program. Additionally, Banking as a Benefit provides access to low-cost personal loans using employee length of service to possibly secure responsible credit options.
As open enrollment approaches, remember that we are here to support you. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please visit the UMMC Benefits website or email HRBenefits@umc.edu.
Thank you for your dedication to the health and well-being of Mississippi’s residents and for being an essential part of the UMMC community. We are pleased to serve as your collaborative partner as we maintain a customer focus and service excellence.
